Veneers Can Conceal...

Chips And Cracks

Sometimes teeth develop chips, craze lines, and hairline fractures. Dental veneers can obscure these cosmetic imperfections and enhance your overall appearance.

Discoloration

Discoloration caused by trauma, genetics, or certain medications cannot be successfully treated with teeth whitening. In these instances, porcelain veneers can help.

Misshapen Teeth

Do you have one tooth or several teeth that are small or misshapen? Our doctors can place dental veneers over these teeth and make them appear more uniform.

Gaps And Spaces

If you have small gaps between your teeth, we can use veneers to cover those gaps. Dental veneers work well for mild to moderate spacing issues.

I visited this facility for the first time but I think I am going to shift my whole family to this facility. Excellent manners, clean hygienic place, very friendly staff and above all Dr. Jenny (their one and only female doctor-hope I remember her name correctly) was very very good. Will be definitely going here only for all future dental visits.

Crafted From Premium Porcelain

Bonding is a procedure that uses tooth-colored resin to achieve an effect similar to porcelain veneers. While resin can look natural and provide an affordable way to determine if you would eventually like to invest in veneers, it has its shortcomings. Compared to resin, premium porcelain provides results that:

Look Amazing

Porcelain is a translucent material that absorbs and reflects light similarly to your natural teeth. As a result, porcelain veneers blend in with the rest of your smile.

Resist Stains

Porcelain resists stains, so the brightness of your brand-new smile lasts longer. The stain resistance of porcelain can also help save costs on future cosmetic dental work.

Last Years

With the proper care, porcelain veneers can last from 10-20 years. We will give you instructions on how to make sure your veneers provide years of benefits.

Our in-house master ceramist can bring out the best properties of porcelain to create a tailor-made fit for your existing teeth.

What Does The Veneers Placement Process Involve?

See How Veneers Are Applied...

Designing and Placing Your Veneers

A Treatment Timeline

During a consultation at Fort Bend Dental, your dentist will assess the health of your affected tooth or teeth to determine your candidacy for dental veneers. This may involve taking x-rays to ensure there is no underlying damage in your teeth. If you qualify for porcelain veneers, you can expect these general steps during treatment at our practice:

Receiving dental veneers usually requires only two office visits.

Impressions

When you and our dentists agree to proceed with veneers, we will begin the treatment process by taking impressions of your teeth and bite. We will use these impressions to create a mock-up of what your end result will look like.

Tooth Preparation

After your impressions have been taken, our doctors will prepare your teeth for veneers by removing a small amount of enamel from the surface of each tooth that will be treated. Removing a thin layer of enamel is necessary for the veneers to properly adhere to the teeth and blend naturally with your smile. After we have prepared your teeth, we will provide you with temporary veneers to wear until your custom-made restorations are complete.

Veneer Fabrication

We will give the impressions of your teeth to our in-house ceramist, who will use our advanced technology to custom-design veneers that will look totally natural in your smile. Our technicians use the highest-quality porcelain available, and they carefully fabricate your restorations to match the color of your enamel, delivering lifelike results. This process takes a few weeks.

Placement

Once your veneers are ready, you will return to either our Missouri City, Aliana, Sugar Land, Richmond, or Rosenberg office to have them placed. After assessing the color, fit, and appearance of the veneers, your doctor will carefully apply them to each prepared tooth. Dental veneers are secured into place using high-quality dental cement. After this appointment, you will have a beautiful smile and should be able to bite and speak normally.

Wearing Temporary Veneers

While our master ceramist creates your custom veneers, you will need to wear temporary veneers to protect your teeth for 2-3 weeks. Our dentists will use a temporary bonding agent to attach them to each tooth. These temporaries might not feel as comfortable as your permanent veneers, but they keep your treated teeth safe and looking normal in the meantime. Patients should take care to practice good hygiene while they wear temporary veneers by brushing gently but thoroughly.

Maintaining

Your Dental Veneers

On average, porcelain veneers last seven to 15 years. Therefore, they will likely need to be replaced eventually. To keep your porcelain veneers looking and feeling great for as long as possible, follow these recommended guidelines from our dentistry team in Missouri City, Richmond, Rosenberg, Aliana and Sugar Land, TX:

Brush Twice a Day

Diligent at-home care is essential for proper oral health. To avoid scratching your porcelain veneers, choose a non-abrasive, fluoride toothpaste and soft toothbrush.

Floss Daily

Cleaning between the teeth is just as important as brushing. You should floss at least once daily using traditional floss, dental picks, or interproximal brushes.

Use an Antibacterial Rinse

While porcelain veneers are not susceptible to decay, the underlying tooth structure and gums are. An antibacterial rinse helps keep cavity-causing bacteria at bay.

Avoid Certain Foods

Porcelain is resistant to staining. However, the bonding material that holds the veneers in place can still become discolored. Consume dark-colored foods in moderation.

Break Bad Habits

You should never open packages, tear tags, or chew your fingernails with your teeth. These bad habits can damage your porcelain veneers as well as your natural teeth.

Are You Self-conscious or Have Dental Anxiety?

Our Staff Are Here to Support You

Our Missouri City, Richmond, Rosenberg, Aliana and Sugar Land staff won’t judge you for needing dental work: it’s why you visit our office in the first place! We care about your health and want you to feel confident about your smile. For patients with dental anxiety, we offer several types of sedation dentistry and local anesthesia so your experience is as relaxing and comfortable as possible.
