Meet Dr. Nirja Shrestha

Dr. Shrestha calls Houston home. Her passion for dentistry began in high school and grew further through shadowing experiences and partaking in dental mission trips to developing countries.

She attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where she received her Bachelor of Science in Public Health with Concentration in Epidemiology and minor in Biology. While working towards her degree, she was active in various leadership roles within her pre-dental organization and volunteered at Texas Mission of Mercy, a mobile dental clinic and Haven for Hope, an organization that aids individuals experiencing homelessness.

Dr. Shrestha completed her degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) from the UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston. During this time, she was actively involved with the American Student Dental Association at the district level, Texas Association of Women Dentists, Asian American Student Dental Association, Student Research Program and Texas Academy of General Dentistry. Currently, she is involved in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), American Dental Association (ADA), Texas Dental Association (TDA) and Greater Houston Dental Society (GHDS). Continuing her dental education with Spears.

In her free time, she enjoys arts & crafts, cooking new recipes, exploring new adventures and unwinding through yoga and meditation. She also cherishes time with family and friends and takes delight in hosting get-togethers. “By integrating art and science, I want to create beautiful and healthy smiles. After all, oral health is part of one’s overall health.”
