BOTOX® Therapy

A smiling woman with blonde hair.We offer BOTOX® therapy at our practice locations in Missouri City, TX, and Richmond, TX, in Fort Bend County for both practical and cosmetic applications. BOTOX® relaxes muscles by blocking nerve impulses. We use BOTOX® therapy to ease inflamed joints, relieve the pain of migraine headaches, achieve aesthetic enhancements in the gum line, and more.

We offer BOTOX® therapy at Fort Bend Dental because as dentists, we focus not just on the teeth, but also the jaw and its relationship to the neuromuscular system. In fact, our dentists' specialized knowledge of the neuromuscular system allows us to administer BOTOX® more comfortably than plastic surgeons or dermatologists can. Contact Fort Bend Dental today to schedule a consultation.

Medical Applications

We offer BOTOX® to treat:

TMJ Disorder – The temporomandibular joints (TMJs) on either side of the jaw can become strained because of bite misalignment, grinding and clenching of the teeth, and injury. With BOTOX® therapy, we can relax the jaw muscles, reducing strain and tension to relieve symptoms like headaches and facial pain.

Bruxism and Clenching – If you clench your jaw or grind your teeth, it can cause considerable strain on the jaw muscles, resulting in pain and discomfort, as well as damage to the teeth. Through the use of BOTOX® therapy, we can alleviate this pain and treat the underlying causes of your bruxism.

Facial Pain and Migraines – BOTOX® therapy is an effective treatment for migraine headaches and facial pain. If you suffer from chronic migraine headaches, we can determine if BOTOX® therapy is right for you.

Angular Cheilitis – This condition is known by many names, including rhagades, angular cheilosis, commissural cheilitis, and angular stomatitis. It refers to an inflammation of the skin and muscle tissues at one or both corners of the mouth. It often presents as dried, cracked skin. We can alleviate this condition through BOTOX® therapy.

"Gummy" Smiles and Asymmetrical Smiles - BOTOX® therapy can refine the shape of the gum line by relaxing certain tissues. If you have a "crooked" smile - that is, if the shape your lips and cheeks assume when you smile is not symmetrical - BOTOX® therapy can help you achieve symmetry.

During your consultation, we will conduct a thorough analysis to identify your condition and determine if BOTOX® therapy is right for you.

Dermal Fillers

In addition to BOTOX® therapy, we also provide dermal fillers, which can add volume to specific tissues, such as the gums, for an aesthetic enhancement. We often use dermal fillers to achieve "black triangle closure," or the reduction of gaps between teeth near the gum tissue. In some cases, dermal fillers are the best solution for angular cheilosis. If you are experiencing a loss of youthful skin volume around the mouth, dermal fillers can provide rejuvenation. Treatment with dermal fillers can last up to two years.

Is BOTOX® Therapy Right for You?

If you suffer from migraines or TMJ disorder, we can help alleviate your pain through BOTOX® therapy. Meanwhile, if you have concerns about the aesthetics of your smile, BOTOX® therapy and dermal fillers can give you the appearance you desire. Contact our dental practice today to learn more.
