Dental crowns are not a new concept in dentistry. In fact, crowns have been used to restore a tooth’s shape, size and strength for decades. Once it is permanently bonded in place, a custom crown fully encases all visible portions of a damaged tooth. When fabricated with porcelain, cosmetic crowns are natural-looking and able to address a wide variety of dental concerns, including the following:

  • Fix discolored, misshapen or gapped teeth
  • Restore and strengthen a tooth that is worn, decayed, cracked, or broken
  • Protect and support a tooth after a large filling or root canal treatment
  • Cover a dental implant
  • Hold a dental bridge in place

When getting a dental crown, there are only a select number of dentists that can truly maximize your comfort and convenience. Fort Bend Dental is proud to offer Same Day Crowns using CEREC technology.

What Are Single Visit Crowns?

Conventional dentistry has often relied on series of appointments, back-and-forth communication between your dentist and a dental lab, and extra time off work. At Fort Bend Dental, we’ve implemented revolutionary techniques and technology to cut your appointments in half. In fact, you can complete treatments like crowns and even implants in just one visit.

A Same Day Crown is a tooth colored restoration that we make right here in our Richmond office. The entire process is completed in less than an hour, instead of two visits a couple of weeks apart. First, we prep the tooth as normal, then we take a “virtual” (digital) impression. The data is transferred into our milling equipment, where an extremely accurate crown is carved out from a solid piece of porcelain while you wait.

Being that your crown is digitally crafted, there is literally no room for human error. The result is a beautiful and natural-looking “cap” that fits remarkably well, down to the finest of details.

Relax and Catch Up on Your Smile

We can pair your single visit crown with other treatments like dental fillings or dental implants. Thanks to sedation dentistry, you’re able to feel comfortable and relaxed from start to finish. It’s an excellent option for people with longer procedures, or those who just feel a bit anxious.

Are you hesitant to get a crown because of the two weeks you’ll spend in a temporary restoration? Contact Fort Bend Dental today to enjoy a permanent new crown in just one appointment.
